Security Group CIDR Examples
When adding a new rule to a Security Group, you can also specify CIDR configurations for each rule. Some examples are provided below.
0.0.0.0/0– This CIDR configuration leaves traffic open to the world. However, other firewalls between the CIDR and the remote machine can still block traffic.
220.127.116.11/32– This CIDR configuration only allows 18.104.22.168 access to the selected port(s). The
/32is used to specify traffic for only the preceding IP address.
192.168.1.0/24– This CIDR configuration allows all IPs between 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.254 access to the selected port(s). The
/24is used to specify this traffic range.
