Share Data with Guest Collections
Globus Guest Collections allow you to share a folder (of a Globus location you have access to) with other Globus users, using their Globus identity or their email address.
Local user accounts on the server(s) where the data is hosted are not required. Globus provides the authentication layer, and access to data is permitted by the owner explicitly to other Globus users.
To share data, you’ll create a guest collection and grant your collaborators access as described in the link above. If you like, you can designate other Globus users as "access managers" for the guest collection, allowing them to grant or revoke access privileges for other Globus users.
Sharing Folders from CADES DTNs
- Sharing of Guest Collections requires a Globus subscription. OLCF and CADES provide a subscription which allows sharing from the CADES DTNs.
- To share a folder from the CADES DTNs contact CADES with the full path to the folder on which you wish sharing enabled.
- Credentials at the institute hosting the data are not needed, delegated access has been extended to the recipient when you invite them to your shared collection.
- You may share also collections from personal endpoints you have created.
